The bungalow pictured above at Cannon Street, Castleford was part of a scheme called Wakefield Learning Disabilities Bungalows (Group 2), and comprised of new build of seven bungalows for the disabled over five sites throughout the Wakefield area.

Highlights

The bungalows were traditional build, but also used modern methods of construction. We worked closely with social services to tailor the bungalows to the individual needs of the occupants, such as providing alternative and appropriate floor coverings and surface finishes where standard materials were inappropriate. We also fitted specialist baths where necessary and the bungalows were built with ceiling hoist provision for future occupants potential needs.
