Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has strengthened its commitment to health and safety standards throughout the company by appointing a full time Health and Safety Advisor.

Haydn Weaver takes on the newly created role and will be based at the company's head quarters in Leeds. Originally employed by Strategic Shutters & Doors Ltd in the capacity of Operations Manager, Haydn will now take the opportunity to utilise his expertise in the field of quality management and health and safety. 

With 14 years experience in the construction industry Haydn holds a Diploma in Construction Health and Safety Management and ISOH Safety for Managers. Prior to being employed by the Strategic companies, Haydn worked for Secure Front Systems in Bury, Manchester, in the role of Quality, Health and Safety Manager. Haydn has also spent time at John Fredericks Plastics as a Quality Manager.

In his new position, Haydn will take responsibility for employee induction training and external training; site safety inspections and audits; accident and incident reporting; Construction Design Management plans; risk assessment and method statements; and providing ongoing support and guidance to all team members.

Commenting on his appointment Haydn said: "Health and safety is an area in which I enjoy working and have a lot of experience. My role is about building on what is already in place at STG and imparting that health and safety is not only important for the company legally but also beneficially to all employees on a day to day basis. Primarily I will be working towards creating a positive culture with regards to health and safety through awareness and communication."
