Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has celebrated its fifth award of 2006 by scooping the People Makes Performance Award at the first Wakefield District Business Awards.

The company was up against three other organisations and secured the award for its comprehensive recognition that its people are the reason for its success. This was achieved by demonstrating its dedication to training and development, its positive commitment to employee benefits as part of the company's business strategy and its promotion of a healthy work-life balance.

The Wakefield District Business Awards are organised by first, the Wakefield District Development Agency, and are supported by key regional organisations such as Wakefield Council. The Awards recognise and celebrate the best of business in the district and are designed to encourage and reward new businesses in the area.

Earlier this year STG was awarded three National Business Awards in the Regional Finals, representing a first for any competing organisation. STG was also recognised by Fast Track 100 as the UK's 63rd fastest growing private company and was selected as a finalist in Contract Journal's Best Company to Work For Awards and the Growing Business Awards.
