Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has appointed Martin Davidson to the newly created role of Bid Manager.

Martin joins the company with 17 years industry experience and was previously employed in the role of Bid Manager at Strata Construction, Doncaster, where he was responsible for setting up and managing the process of estimating for the company. Prior to that Martin worked as a Quantity Surveyor for Keighley-based Allen Build and has also spent time working abroad in Hong Kong.In this new role, Martin will use his experience to organise and manage STG's estimating function as well as taking commercial responsibility for projects when on site.  Martin will also be responsible for managing customer relationships and sub-contractor relationships to ensure effective working practises, competitive pricing and successful business development.

STG's emphasis on new build work has grown over the last five years and the company has seen its average contract value rise from around ?200k up to ?2m.  This has changed the company's exposure to risk and driven the need for an individual such as Martin to use his experience to manage risk exposure, set up effective systems for management and implement relevant procedures.

Commenting on his appointment, Martin said:: “This new role represents a great challenge for me as an individual and also gives me the space I need to grow and the ability to make a difference.
