STG were welcome guests when Idle Primary School invited the Bishop of Bradford to formally open the new school extension. The school entertained their guests in style, with an array of brightly coloured, decorated hats and a dance performance followed by excellent singing from the pupils and John Froud. Attendees were treated to a tour of the new facilities in small groups by year 6 pupils and were gifted a small plant in a pot decorated by the children.
Procured through YORbuild, the scheme comprised the construction of a new link corridor between Idle Primary and High Park School to form one expanded site. There was significant remodelling and upgrade works, including structural alterations to form a new school hall with adjoining rooms. A complete refurbishment of the High Park site including a new roof, cladding and insulation. New windows and doors to the externals, reconfiguration of existing space, complete refurbishment of internal finishes and fittings including all services. External hard and soft landscaping including forming a new entrance and car park.
Jason Green, Operations Director thoroughly enjoyed the event, commenting “it was a great project to work on and fun to see the pupils enjoying the new hall. Learning is one of STG’s key brands, so we are delighted to have completed another school project so successfully". We enjoyed an excellent working relationship with the School Business Manager, Sue Ayre, who complimented us on our teamwork and was extremely impressed with our site manager, Daryl Del Grande. Sue commented "Team work is key and we were so grateful to have Daryl as Site Manager - he's priceless, calm and very unassuming".
