A traditional sod-cutting ceremony has marked the start of building work at a housing scheme of 14 supported living apartments for adults with complex learning and physical disabilities.

Strategic Team Group (STG) is building the £2.2 million scheme, which is being funded by Homes England and Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Housing with care is an increasingly important sub-sector for STG. This development sits alongside two significant new-build projects in Yorkshire for Lifeways Group and a major modernisation in Wigan on behalf of Housing & Care 21. In total STG is building more than 500 mixed tenure homes annually.

Richard Marshall, STG’s Regional Operations Director said: “We are delighted to have won the contract to deliver this vital scheme for Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

“Our North West office has grown by more than 50 per cent in the last year; this growth is set to continue having secured more than £16m of tendered new-build projects alone in the first six months of 2018.”
