Strategic Team Group Achieves £36.5M Turnover As It Celebrates Decade of Success

Property solutions firm, Strategic Team Group, reports strong profits in its tenth consecutive year of trading, with successes nationally in the public and transport sectors. Despite a challenging and unstable year for the construction industry, the company saw a 5.7 per cent increase on sales to £36.52 million and EBITDA of 6.1 per cent for the year ended 31st March 2010.

The year saw the firm complete over 12,000 work orders. Significant growth was secured in the North West of England, thanks to the opening of a fully operational office in Stockport. Successes in the transport sector, in particular rail, continued unabated, with contracts secured with several train operating companies ranging from Arriva Trains Wales to Northern Rail. Projects have included Accrington eco station, high profile schemes such as Chester station, the UK's first Cyclepoint at Leeds station plus numerous station refurbishment works. The firm also secured prestigious public sector frameworks with YORbuild, North Yorkshire County Council and Kirklees Council. Furthermore, a new funding model was engineered and introduced to enable Registered Social Landlords to recommence stalled building schemes.

The year also saw over £20,000 donated to the firm's corporate charity, the Prince of Wales Hospice, thanks to the efforts of staff and clients who participated in the Belgium to Berlin cycle challenge. Passionate about nurturing young talent, whether it be in the sporting arena or in a professional capacity, the firm has continued its sponsorship of rising British tennis star, Peter Ashley, junior football teams and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Matrics Yorkshire & Humber.

The growth, which was entirely derived organically, was achieved across all market sectors, although there has been a noticed reduction in income from the social housing market, this has however been easily compensated for by growth in transport and government sectors. Other areas include commercial office fit-outs and high profile residential schemes.

Looking to the future, the firm's secured order book is very healthy, standing at £31 million, which represents 73 per cent of budgeted turnover for 2010/11.
