Strategic Team Group (STG), one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has won a £200K contract with Bradford Community Housing Trust (BCHT) for the conversion of five houses in Bradford as part of a housing regeneration project.

The contract will involve re-modelling the properties, which are located on Heysham Drive in Holmewood, into five "4 bedroom" properties. The properties are currently divided into ten flats for which there is a poor demand in the area. BCHT hope that the conversion will meet the much greater need for family accommodation and help to sustain and settle the surrounding community.

As part of the contract BCHT and STG will work in partnership with the Architects, Jennings Design Ltd, to complete structural and refurbishment works on the properties, which are currently difficult to let.

STG will provide a full range of building services including bricklaying, plumbing and plastering and the company will also utilise the services of one of its associate companies, Strategic Mechanical and Electrical, to complete the central re-wiring required by each of the domestic properties.

STG will also be responsible for the installation of new windows and doors into each property as well as fitting new kitchen units, bathroom suites and heating systems and completely redecorating home to bring them in line with the government's Decent Homes guidelines and BCHT's own Bradford Standard. In addition, all of the materials specified in the project will be supplied from local businesses as part of BCHT's commitment to building sustainable communities.

The contract is part of a £175m programme of repairs and improvements by BCHT to regenerate its housing stock across Bradford in order to meet the Decent Homes standard by 2010 and meet the promises made to customers prior to transfer.
