Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has been awarded a contract with United Cinemas International worth in excess of £180k.

The initial contract will form phase one of a three phase programme designed to ensure that all UCI cinemas are compliant with Disability and Discrimination legislation and will involve STG upgrading access and egress areas in 30 of UCI's 34 cinemas nationwide.

Following the completion of an audit of each UCI cinema, STG will carry out improvements on the external structural features of all of the entrance and exit areas. This will include the re-marking of car parks to allow additional space for wheelchairs and other mobility products; providing "dropped" kerbs and tactile paving and the addition of handrails and signage where appropriate. On completion of this contract, STG will then begin work on phase two and three of the project which will involve the conversion of the interior facilities and auditoriums of the cinemas.

Strategic Team Group work in partnership with UCI as part of an ongoing Preventative Planned Maintenance contract in which the company provides 24 hour reactive cover, a quarterly plumbing service, quarterly door service and scheduled monthly visits from an accredited electrician and joiner.

United Cinemas International operates cinemas in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy and Portugal. The company operates 34 Cinemas across the UK and Ireland containing three hundred and forty screens. It employs over 2,700 people and attracts more than twenty million guests per year.
