A thriving construction firm's Bristol office is well on track to meet targets after pulling in over £2.3 million worth of contracts in the rail sector. Strategic Team Group opened its office at Caswell Park, Clapton in Gordano in February 2011 and in the last two months alone has secured some of Wales's most prestigious railway station projects including Swansea and Cardiff.

Headed by operations manager and former Rok Building employee, Matt Tyler, the team have been awarded the £2.1 million contract for Swansea station, part of the Department for Transport's national station improvement programme, which is being jointly led by Arriva Trains Wales, Network Rail and the Welsh Government. The project comprises of new build and refurbishment works to both the internal areas of the station, as well as the external facades, creating a new gateway to Swansea. As the fourth busiest station in Wales, with approximately 1.6 million passengers a year, the scheme will provide a bright, clean, modern and safe environment for passenger.

The contracts were awarded to Strategic Team Group following the completion of the highly acclaimed Grade II Chester station. Additional works secured with Arriva Trains Wales include the entire refurbishment of Cardiff station's ticket office.
