Phase 2 refurbishment of Grade II listed Longley School
Client: Kirklees Council, Corporate Procurement
Value: £1.6m
Duration: 50 weeks

Sensitive refurbishment of a historic school building whose origins can be traced back to 16th century. Works included extensive internal and external repairs and refurbishment over two phases, including replacement of the slate roof, timber, plaster and masonry repairs and new classrooms, kitchens, science laboratories and main hall.
Great care was taken to maintain the integrity of the architecture which includes Gothic Revival remodelling which was carried out between 1848 and 1877.
"We are proud to have worked on this historic school building and to have delivered a high-quality learning space."
Andy Coates, Construction Driector, Strategic Team Group
