Four Year Old's Garden Designs For Woodhouse Estate, Keighley
Four-year-old, Alice Bentley of Cross Roads has designed a garden for a multi million pound housing development in Keighley, which is currently being developed by building contractor, Strategic Team Group on behalf of Incommunities - the area's biggest social housing landlord.
Alice, who attends Lees Primary School, will see her designs planted in reality as part of the new estate at Woodhouse, Keighley after she won a garden design competition which appeared in the Keighley News.
The competition saw children from the Keighley area submitting their dream garden designs, with several entries received from members of the Lees Primary School's gardening club, which Alice is a keen member of.
Alice won a set of gardening tools and seeds for flowers to attract butterflies and birds, plus £500 for her school, which will be spent on its own gardening projects. Alice will be invited back to Woodhouse to see her garden designs once it has been finished, later this year.
As part of the first phase development of the site, Strategic Team Group is constructing 27 family-sized homes - 19 of which will be Incommunities homes for rent. The development deal will see the firm take ownership of the remaining new homes, which it will then go on to sell through its associated company, 21C Properties Ltd, as part of a new initiative to help fund the scheme. The new homes for Incommunities form part of the housing group's exciting plans to regenerate the whole estate, which covers the eventual construction of around 130 properties.
