Phase 1 works commenced with the demolition or alteration of various existing structures to accommodate the new extension. We then began creating the superstructure, based around a steel frame and designed to a bespoke specification for the site. New walls and staircases were constructed under Phase 2 and doors, windows and roof coverings were installed. The internal works were completed with partitioning and wall, ceiling and floor finishes.

On completion of the above, STG coordinated the procurement and moving-in of new fittings, fixtures and furniture to suit the layout and decor of the new building. Statutory and sanitary services were installed and commissioned by our specialist supply partners, while external works included drainage and landscaping.

As part of our engagement with staff and pupils, and to add value for the school, STG worked with pupils to create a freshwater and wildlife habitat within the school grounds. We managed the clearing of a woodland area and subsequent creation of a dedicated space for study and relaxation, complete with easy access for disabled students.

On completion the school’s Head wrote to congratulate us on our management of the works, praising our Site Manager’s ability to maintain a safe environment on the live teaching site while coordinating multiple sub-contractors. Despite sometimes challenging conditions, we completed the works on time and minimised the impact of the scheme on day-to-day learning.
